Sustainable Solutions Through Pre-Owned Furniture

A smarter, more sustainable way to furnish your spaces

A Practical + Thoughtful Solution

We understand that clients want to make the most of their furniture investment, without sacrificing quality, design, or performance. Our Pre-Owned Program is built around that exact goal.

We offer a curated selection of gently used, refurbished, and remanufactured furniture that meets the same safety and durability standards as new products. Whether you're furnishing a single office or an entire project, our team is here to help you stretch your budget and support your sustainability goals, with solutions that still look and feel like new.

Sustainability is in Our DNA

Our story began when our team salvaged surplus aircraft parts and turned them into office furniture, keeping valuable materials out of landfills. That same spirit still drives us today. Over the past 75+ years, we’ve saved tens of thousands of furniture pieces from disposal, giving them new purpose in offices, startups, nonprofits, and beyond.

How We Source + Restore

We acquire pre-owned furniture through client trade-ins, showroom models, and manufacturer returns. Every item is carefully reviewed to determine if it’s a good candidate for reuse. From there, we clean, refinish, reupholster, and replace hardware as needed, bringing each piece back to life with a fresh look and reliable performance.

For university projects, we’ll work side-by-side with your team to understand the vision and recommend where pre-owned pieces can be incorporated. If a mix of new and refurbished furniture is the best path forward, we’ll help select pieces that complement each other in style, finish, and function, so your space still feels cohesive and intentionally designed.

Furniture Categories We Offer

Why Clients Choose Pre-Owned

Stretches the Budget without cutting corners on quality

Speeds Up Timelines with in-stock inventory

Reduces Waste and supports long-term ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals

Blends Seamlessly with new furniture when needed

Henricksen is proud to offer a robust Pre-Owned Furniture program—providing high-quality refurbished solutions that support both budget and sustainability goals. With origins in Philadelphia, the program gives office furniture a second life, whether in a start-up environment, as a temporary solution, or through donation to local nonprofits.

For Northwestern University’s Allen Center project, refurbished OFR product was utilized to deliver value-driven results without compromising on performance. Located just off Church Street in Evanston, this installation is a powerful example of how thoughtful reuse can align with institutional goals and environmental responsibility.
